Preserve installed definitions when narrowing a query

When a deployed query contains corrections absent from its source fixture, replacing it with a copied definition can discard those corrections. Prefer a narrowly guarded edit of the installed definition when one additional predicate expresses the optimization. Prove the relational invariant that makes the restriction equivalent, reject unfamiliar query shapes, preserve ownership and security options, and bound replacement lock waits inside a transaction. This reduces duplicated logic and drift risk, but changes every consumer of the view; monitor broad reporting plans as well as the targeted single-record path. Synthetic equivalence and concurrency checks do not prove production performance. Applies when: A query optimization must preserve deployment-specific expressions and security metadata. Keywords: installed view definition predicate rewrite schema drift casts locks equivalence rollback
