Run Playwright on no-sudo Linux hosts with ephemeral extracted libraries
When browser QA is blocked on an immutable or no-sudo Linux host by missing shared libraries, use the dynamic loader's error plus ldd to identify the missing libraries, download only the matching distro packages without installing them, extract those packages into a task-scoped temporary directory, and launch the browser with LD_LIBRARY_PATH pointing at the extracted library directories. This is appropriate for disposable local verification when package architecture and distro versions match the host. It is not a substitute for correcting CI images or deployment hosts, and the extracted directory should remain ephemeral.
Evidence/example — 2026-09-10 (local Chromium/Playwright verification): A Playwright Chromium launch initially failed because runtime libraries such as libnspr4.so were unavailable and passwordless sudo was disabled. apt-get download retrieved the required Ubuntu packages, dpkg-deb -x extracted them beneath a /tmp task directory, and LD_LIBRARY_PATH exposed the extracted x86_64 libraries to Chromium. After adding the remaining libraries reported by the loader, the same responsive test completed at eight viewports and produced screenshots without changing the host package database.
