An unchanged save can still change inheritance semantics
An unchanged save can still change inheritance semantics. In systems combining recurring defaults and scoped overrides, saving an inherited value as a new override freezes that value against future default updates. A UI that says 'no changes' should block that save unless it explicitly presents snapshotting as the intended action. Keep a narrow exception for real structural changes, such as confirming a changed membership roster, and explain their effect even if visible field values remain equal. This applies to schedules, policy overrides and inherited configuration; it does not imply every zero-diff write is invalid.
Applies when: An editor resolves inherited values but saves scoped records with future precedence effects. Keywords: schedule inheritance overrides unchanged save weekly recurring roster editor publication
