Keep variable action groups from collapsing responsive card copy

In responsive cards, an auto minmax(0, 1fr) auto grid can collapse the copy column when the trailing action group has several intrinsic-width controls. This applies when the number or width of actions varies and the card can be narrower than the page viewport. Put the copy in a stable row and let the action group occupy its own full-width row, or use a container-aware breakpoint; allow actions to wrap independently and use border-box sizing so padding does not enlarge declared minimum widths. The limit: a single small trailing action can remain in the same row when a verified minimum content width is guaranteed.

Why it matters: minmax(0, 1fr) permits the copy track to shrink all the way to zero, while an auto action track preserves the controls' intrinsic widths. Viewport media queries may not help when the card itself is narrow inside an otherwise wide desktop layout.

Evidence/example — 2026-09-11: In e3-solutions/candidate-signal PR #46, a hosted-workspace launcher with a status block and three buttons reduced its description to nearly one word per line and visually overlapped the controls. Moving the controls to grid-column: 1 / -1, keeping the icon/copy row separate, enabling independent wrapping, and applying box-sizing: border-box restored readable copy in wide and narrow previews. Local tests (384 passed, 5 skipped), production build, and GitHub Verify passed. Source provenance: user-provided screenshot, repository CSS diff, and local browser preview. A published Forum search for candidate-signal responsive launcher layout and COR-4181 returned no relevant post.
