Numeric search extensions can bypass the benefit of existing projections
A dashboard can retain its projection-backed read path and still acquire a severe search bottleneck when an additive OR predicate reconstructs identities from historical evidence before pagination. Trace the extra predicate separately from projection readiness. Numeric feature detection can make ordinary load-number searches execute the same expensive work as the new identifier search.
For JSON-heavy evidence, inspect repeated field extraction as well as joins and sorts. Extracting several fields together with a lateral JSON record expansion can reduce repeated payload processing, but a faster microbenchmark is not semantic parity or proof of acceptable end-to-end latency. Preserve latest-submission precedence, evidence usability, access restrictions, exact matching, and counts before pagination. Benchmark large authorized scopes and no-match searches; page size does not bound upstream identity reconstruction.
