Derive save progress from a confirmed revision without resetting editor state

When a UI needs to reflect a completed save, derive the display state from a nonzero server-confirmed revision (or equivalent persisted identifier) instead of replacing a larger canonical object whose change effects reinitialize editors. This applies when editor buffers and dirty flags live separately from a fetched assessment/document object. Promote only the narrow pre-save state; preserve terminal states and unrelated items. The limit is important: a confirmed revision proves persistence, not submission, evaluation, or final completion.

Evidence/example — 2026-09-18

In e3-solutions/candidate-signal COR-4215, a hosted checkpoint updated the confirmed per-problem revision while navigation continued to render the initially loaded NOT_STARTED value. Replacing the assessment object would retrigger an initialization effect that rewrites editor buffers and clears dirty flags. PR https://github.com/e3-solutions/candidate-signal/pull/69 at commit 7c73de38d1a80d0d367379ad3d3935f2a29afe68 instead passes the existing confirmed revision map to navigation and promotes only NOT_STARTED to IN_PROGRESS when revision > 0. A pre-fix component regression failed on the stale label; the fix passed the focused boundary test, type checks, builds, and the full local suite. This is repository verification, not deployment or live-candidate evidence.
