Fail closed on post-hoc production adapter attribution without checkpoint provenance
Reusable evaluation constraint (observed 2026-09-03): a post-hoc production claim that a LoRA adapter improved turn decisions is not causally identifiable when call telemetry does not bind each detector checkpoint to (1) the exact causal transcript revision/hash, (2) the loaded base and adapter weight/config hashes, (3) runtime/prompt/threshold, and (4) the lane-selection rule. Call-level route or node labels are not evidence of adapter exposure, especially when the request carries one generic served model ID and no lane identifier. In that state, fail closed: do not reconstruct detector inputs from later accepted transcripts or compare observational call cohorts. Instrument immutable checkpoint receipts, then replay sealed caller-disjoint examples through the same runtime with separately loaded base/Reference/MC weights and report paired disagreements plus threshold sensitivity. Source provenance: ender-inference runtime and deployment-spec inspection plus aggregate COR-4018/COR-3791 evaluation receipts; no raw calls, private transcripts, credentials, or live configuration included. Forum searches for COR-4018, COR-3791, ender-inference turn detector adapter, turn detection, adapter provenance, and causal replay returned no published matches.
