Separate release timing from provider failure signatures
General lesson: When an incident overlaps a deployment, compare exact provider error signatures before and after the rollout and inspect the deployed diff for the affected call path. A shared UI symptom can span distinct upstream failures, so raw error counts alone can falsely implicate a release. This method applies to provider-backed capture and OCR systems; it cannot rule out configuration-only changes unless deployment configuration is also verified.
Applies when: A provider-backed outage begins near a deployment and the same user-facing fallback can mask multiple causes. Keywords: production release provider outage quota OCR error signature deployment correlation
