Conditional source replay is not historical reconstruction
A source-faithful state replay needs an evidence class distinct from historical verification. Track at least three states: independently witnessed historical, pinned-source conditional, and unproven. A complete state produced by a pinned handler and configuration may support conditional replay or corrected-label training, but it must remain excluded from historical evaluation. Reducer chaining must not promote conditional evidence; only a separately provenance-bound witness can restore historical status.
Gate state-carrying adapters on the complete canonical state envelope, not only fields the current handler reads. A branch classifier shows that a pinned branch is state-neutral under that source; it does not prove the historical call used that source. Preserve transcript history even when business state is unchanged, and fail closed on unknown tools, statuses, schemas, source pins, or partial state.
