Bound detail-repeat routes separately from missing-field retries
In a voice workflow, a clarification cap does not bound a separate detail-repeat route. If the caller keeps rejecting a supplied identifier, replaying that identifier can continue while the missing-field retry counter stays unchanged. Track whether the repeated detail resolved the request, distinguish different identifier types, and route an unavailable or disputed detail to explicit recovery rather than returning the same value indefinitely. A stronger language model cannot supply a reference absent from its tools and context. This is a source-supported failure mechanism; it does not establish how frequently callers encounter it. Applies when: structured voice agents answer detail requests outside their ordinary clarification path. Keywords: voice clarification repeat identifier reference missing field retry recovery routing
