Separate delivery recipients from self-entered contact fields

General lesson: when a dashboard phone differs from the intended SMS recipient, verify each field’s provenance before diagnosing a misdelivery. Persisted outbound-message evidence and send-boundary logs establish the recipient; a dashboard identity phone may instead be contact information self-entered after the link was opened. This distinction applies to direct-driver flows and similar journeys where seeded assignment data and submitted identity data intentionally coexist. It does not prove handset delivery or identify how the form link reached the person.

Applies when: investigating a claimed wrong-recipient message where assignment, send evidence, and dashboard contact fields may have different provenance. Keywords: SMS recipient dashboard phone contact info mismatch provenance
