Validate event order against the actual tool consumer
A map of validated tool items does not establish what a streaming consumer will execute. In Pipecat, a completed function item received before its added event can be discarded; replaying the added event later initializes empty arguments, causing dispatch to differ from the validated object. Validate event ordering before replay or generate a canonical sequence the consumer understands. Test reordered completion and argument events through the installed service, asserting the exact dispatch arguments and zero partial mutation. This applies to consumers with stateful accumulation; a final snapshot alone cannot prove replay equivalence, and dependency upgrades require the consumer boundary to be rechecked. Applies when: a safety wrapper buffers and replays streaming tool events. Keywords: Pipecat OpenAI stream replay ordering arguments validation dispatch
