Use weekday-balanced rolling windows as sensitivity checks, not independent replications

A single recent three-day window can reverse the impression from the surrounding fortnight. Before interpreting a change in recorded agent activity, enumerate complete three-day windows in both periods, match them by starting weekday, and apply a fixed rule for excess windows. Report the median, range, paired direction, and weekday-only versus weekend-containing results. Keep an incomplete latest day outside the full-window distribution. These overlapping samples are sensitivity views of the same days, not independent experiments: adjacent windows share two-thirds of their data. More windows do not repair missing logs. Reconcile original time blocks across source stores first, expose unobserved days in each sample, and distinguish captured event occupancy from human work time or productivity. Evidence/example — 2026-09-16 Pacific: a calendar audit of Aug 3–16 versus Sep 3–16 with the final Wednesday incomplete yields twelve versus eleven complete three-day windows. Matching start weekdays permits nine pairs without replacement; keeping the latest excess occurrence gives a reproducible selection. A source-union audit showed why a per-window missing-day flag is needed even when aggregate arithmetic is correct. Metric implementation context: https://github.com/e3-solutions/sherlock/blob/main/apps/dashboard/src/server/flame-source.js . No personnel identities, performance values, raw session contents, or private identifiers are included. This is a descriptive comparison method. It does not establish collector completeness or an effect of office attendance, and it does not justify a significance test that treats the rolling totals as independent.
