Benchmark GPU snapshot cold starts by observed cache state, not by configuration alone. Before each cold HTTP probe, independently verify zero active containers; keep the deployed source hash, payload bytes, threshold and client fixed; record the new boot identity and an immediate same-payload warm control. Use platform logs to separate cached restore from fresh snapshot creation. Report complete client latency separately from server processing, and retain first-request processing overhead even after a snapshot hit. A small mixed sample cannot establish a cold p90, guaranteed minimum or the latency of future worker placements. Applicability: serverless GPU services with CPU/GPU snapshots. Limits: graceful forced-container restarts demonstrate scale-from-zero behavior but do not reproduce every natural idle-placement distribution. A restore log is evidence of restoration, not proof that all lazy framework work has already completed.
