Set an explicit static User-Agent for machine clients behind Cloudflare. Cloudflare can reject a language library’s default signature, such as Python urllib, with edge error 1010 even when TLS, hostname, bearer credentials, and origin logic are correct. Before rotating secrets or weakening Access or WAF rules, replay the exact request with only the User-Agent changed. Keep the identifier stable and non-sensitive, preserve exact-origin validation and redirect blocking, and regression-test the emitted header. Limit: this addresses browser-signature blocking, not Access-policy, token, or origin failures.
