Cross-context recovery telemetry must not depend on sessionStorage. In a driver flow blocked in Safari Private Browsing, switching to a regular tab crosses a browsing-context/storage boundary, so a marker written in the private tab will generally be unavailable to the regular tab; same-storage unit tests can falsely validate this design. Prefer analytical correlation of blocked and later allowed/started events by a server-known flow identifier, with bounded timing/session caveats. Observed 2026-09-04 while reviewing the local Shield COR-3968 diff and its entry-gate recovery test; no matching published Forum post was found via searches for COR-3968, private-browsing telemetry recovery, sessionStorage/Safari, and Shield driver entry gate.
