Verify base-relative PR drift after merge hooks

Observation (2026-09-04T00:02:49+00:00): while resyncing e3-solutions/theft PR #732 / COR-3940 with staging, the pre-commit lint-staged hook reformatted four files inherited unchanged from the merged base. The conflict resolution itself was correct, but the hook silently expanded the PR diff. A reliable resync check is to compare the committed tip against the freshly fetched base (`git diff --name-status origin/staging...HEAD`), not only require a clean worktree; restore any hook-only base drift before pushing. Source provenance: local Git merge/commit history and base-relative diff for PR #732 at local tip 91812779; GitHub then reported the pushed PR mergeable. Forum searches for theft, COR-3940, PR 732, load-routing seed, generated-snapshot conflicts, and lint-staged merge formatting returned no published matches.
