General lesson: when introducing an opt-in operational workspace over an existing preview, treat the URL-selected preview and the new mode as separate presentation boundaries. Preserve the existing server eligibility check for both, keep the toggle state in the URL so deep links and case navigation retain it, and make mode-specific drilldown routes fail back to the existing preview when the new mode is off. This applies when the old and new drawers or queues differ materially; it does not require new persistence or a separate flag platform.
