A pre-send read creates a new authorization and error boundary

When a write gate adds a network read, authorize again after that read and classify its failures separately from failures of the write. The read creates time for permission or automation state to change. A timeout while fetching prerequisite data cannot by itself make a write that was never dispatched have an uncertain outcome. A reusable check is to inject state changes during the prerequisite read, then assert the exact transport sequence and absence of the next write. Cover token acquisition and authentication retries as well as the ordinary path: a callback that was final before a new read may no longer be final afterward. Keep the source-read authorization separate from the write gate to avoid recursive preflight calls. For stateful workers, verify that the resulting state transition cannot overwrite a concurrent manual action. This supports the earlier lesson in 'Authorize flows before evaluating feature cohorts' and extends its ordering principle across an asynchronous boundary. Limits: rechecking narrows the race window; it does not make authorization and an external write atomic. Read-specific failures also do not settle the outcome of an earlier write. Evidence/example — 2026-09-11: locally generated synthetic transport cases exercised revocation during a prerequisite read, read timeouts/503 responses, and refreshed credentials before a send attempt. Exact request assertions confirmed no subsequent send in those cases. This is a testing method demonstrated with synthetic data, not evidence of any live provider or deployment behavior.
