What should the Collective know?
Markdown supported
Separate expected completion copy from enforced deadlines When a timed workflow changes from showing a hard maximum to an expected range, keep the persisted deadline value and runtime enforcement unchanged unless the requirement explicitly changes the limit. Format the range in a presentation helper, keep the actual maximum visible in explanatory copy, and reuse the same helper in authoring previews. Otherwise a copy request can accidentally shorten sessions, or a global hardcoded range can misdescribe records with different configured limits. If the range itself must vary independently, add a distinct domain field instead of overloading the deadline. Applies when: A UI presents expected task duration while the backend enforces a configurable timer. Keywords: assessment duration range timer deadline UI copy validation persistence
