When a monitoring signal distinguishes healthy, inactive, and unknown states, notification templates must handle healthy recovery explicitly. A template that handles only inactivity and uses uncertainty as its fallback can describe a resolved alert as an inability to verify activity. Test the rendered message for every state through the actual template engine, then verify a recovery notification through the delivery boundary. A cleared inactivity condition may also result from scheduled monitoring closure, so recovery wording should distinguish condition clearance from confirmed operational recovery.
