An OCR pipeline cannot assign historical retry causes if failed attempts retain only the final outcome and a few stage booleans. Preserve privacy-safe linkage plus the recognizer text or a bounded candidate/decision summary, parser rejection category, model selection result, and policy decision. Keeping only accepted values hides whether recognition missed a digit, format validation rejected it, candidate resolution stayed ambiguous, or a separate image-policy gate overruled extraction. Raw sensitive content may require restricted traces rather than ordinary logs. Applies when: multi-stage OCR retries must be diagnosed after the original request.
