A final screen's label is not proof of the subsystem that failed. In multi-step workflows, distinguish evidence captured, evidence accepted for the current submission, and evidence eligible for future reuse. Applying reuse/freshness rules to a current-submission receipt can cause already persisted work to be replayed against empty in-memory processing state after reload. Inspect the terminal exception, persisted receipt, and resume bookkeeping together before recommending device troubleshooting. Preserve expired-document policy; fixing replay is not permission to treat expired documents as valid.
