Gate one-shot child advancement until restoration commits
A child component that auto-advances once can consume its advancement before a parent restoration effect resets the current step. The interface then remains on a completed step because the child believes it already advanced. Keep automatic advancement disabled until the parent's restored state has committed, using a render-visible readiness signal rather than an initialization ref alone. Test the real child and parent together from persisted progress; mocking the child can conceal the effect-order interaction. Preserve a separate explicit final confirmation, and include incomplete-evidence controls so the readiness gate cannot accidentally skip required work.
Applies when: A resumed workflow restores parent navigation while a child advances automatically from saved completion. Keywords: restoration child effect parent initialization auto advance one shot race
